Andrew Dickson

Hello. I'm an award-winning journalist, story editor, exec and podcast consultant.

I’ve been a journalist for 20 years, including stints as a senior editor at The Financial Times, The Guardian and Prospect magazine, specialising in longform. As a writer I’ve contributed to The New Yorker, The New York Times, Guardian Long Read, FT Magazine and other international publications.

I also have a deep background in audio; I’ve exec produced and story edited multi-part series for the BBC and Sony, written and fronted my own documentaries, and consulted for independent podcast studios, advising on development, scriptwriting and storytelling.

As an author, my most recent book is the award-winning travelogue Worlds Elsewhere: Journeys Around Shakespeare's Globe – an exploration of Shakespeare’s impact worldwide, from the film studios of Bollywood to the American Wild West. I’ve also contributed to reference titles on classical music and opera.

I also love teaching and live events. I’ve been an honorary fellow at Birkbeck, University of London, taught at institutions including Warwick and SOAS, delivered international education projects with the British Council, and interviewed major cultural figures on stage.
